My Journey to Jordan to study Arabic
I arrived in Amman, Jordan almost three months ago. My intention was to study Arabic. At first I didn’t know that there was a language center at the University of Jordan where one could take Arabic courses at all levels.
Although I have studied Arabic before, I was afraid that my language level would be considered low. However, the instructors at the center helped me realize that I needed to practice the language more frequently.
In general, I am very satisfied with the development of my language. Not only did I learn a lot of new Arabic words and grammar, improve my listening skills, and begin to use colloquial Arabic, I also learned a lot about the Arab culture thanks to the extracurricular activities and trips of the Language Center. These trips were an excellent opportunity to get to know the Jordanian people and all the tourist attractions in Jordan.
Sometimes it is difficult to have students agree with different cultural, academic and linguistic backgrounds. From my point of view, going to Jordan and studying at the University of Jordan was the best decision I made. The country is beautiful, the people are nice, and I studied a lot.
