Chairman of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Dr. Mohammad Kilani displayed in a ceremony held at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology achievements of the Robotics and Electronics Club based at the Faculty.
Kilani said in his speech during the ceremony that the club team has organized free robotics workshops for university students, and represented the University in various national contests, and has obtained advanced places in many of those contests.
Kilani added that the team also participated in activities organized by the University in cooperation with other academic institutions, such as "eye on the future," and ”Xenon Fair", and the open day of the Department of Mechatronics, in addition to helping a number of students in their graduation projects.
Former professor of electrical engineering at the college, Dr. Mahmoud Al Hussari represented a section entitled "How to be an engineer?" In which he explained how to link geometry of various branches with practical life through the selection of projects based on the need of the market and society.
From his part, head of the team, student Zaid Jaber spoke about the history and future of robots, pointing out that the first attempt to make a robot was by a Muslim scientist called Abul Aziz El Jurzi who worked in the field of engineering tricks.
In turn, team members, student Mona Hamdan pointed out in her speech to the difficulties faced by the robotics researchers and expectations of scientists, while student Ahmed Samir displayed reasons for studying robotics and its future effects on humans and robots replacing human jobs.
The ceremony was attended by UJ Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Shtaywi Abdullah and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Mahmoud Hammad and a number of faculty and students.
It is noteworthy that the Robots and Electronics Club is a positive initiative established by a group of students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Departments of Mechatronics, Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, and aims to improve scientific, professional and social skills of students and insert in them the spirit of giving and teamwork.
