The Faculty of Educational Sciences at The University of Jordan organized a workshop on Wednesday to research aspects of the educational process in Jordan.
The participants of the workshop: "Towards an educational vision for the advancement of education in Jordan”, called for establishing a comprehensive data bank to store all information that is related to the educational system.
They urged the Ministry of Education to set up clear exams and admission policies for all students at all stages, and highlighted the need for teacher training programs and effective administrative mechanisms to ensure the proper implementation of school curricula.
The participants also called for convening a specialized conference to discuss the reality of education in general, and define a future vision for the development of education in partnership between the Ministry of Education, the private sector and the educational sciences faculties all around the Kingdom.
Moreover, the participants identified basic principles for the development of the educational system in accordance with the new stage, in addition to updating the educational standards and identifying a set of values needed to connect the student with the society and define the basic rules of each member of the educational process.
The one-day workshop was attended by deans of education faculties in the Jordanian universities and a number of senior officials at the Ministry of Education.
