Twenty five research projects submitted by UJ postgraduate students have been selected for funding by the Scientific Research Support Fund (SRSF). Eight of the selected projects are in the doctoral level and 17 in the master’s level.

The selected projects received approximately JOD 27.000. To obtain the funding, UJ signed a number of agreements with SRSF in the presence of its Director General Abdallah Al-Zoubi and the Dean of Academic Research Prof. Abeer Al Bawab.

The signed agreements stipulate that UJ should provide similar financial support for the researchers.

According to Prof. Abeer Al Bawab, the Deanship’s commitment to provide a similar funding for the researchers who applied for support comes as part of its devotion to develop academic research and improve its quality and promote a culture of scientific research.

The submitted projects are in basic sciences and were evaluated prior to being selected for funding, said Al Bawab.

Furthermore, this is the second round of funding for the academic year 2013/2014, noting that the deadline for submission of applications for funding for the first round of the scholastic year 2014/2015 is the end of October 2014.

It’s noteworthy that SRSF is affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It supports projects in basic science, energy, water, environment, technology, as well as humanities and social sciences.
