Princess Muna Inaugurates First Nursing Conference at UJ Hospital

HRH Princess Muna Al-Hussein on Tuesday inaugurated at the Jordan University Hospital (JUH) the first nursing conference titled “Recent Advances in Nursing Care”.

 

JUH  General Director Prof. Ahmad Tamimi explained during the inauguration that the conference is a chance to look at recent research findings in the field of nursing and encourage nurses to conduct scientific research on the issues that face the nursing care sector.

 

This conference is organized in the light of JUH’s vision of developing nursing services, as well as improving the nursing profession to provide better nursing practices and health care for patients.

 

It also aims at reinforcing and implementing nursing health care policies and procedures followed by hospitals in Jordan, improve the nursing profession, and exchange knowledge and experiences.

 

Moreover, Tamimi pointed out that the hospital’s policy has a focus on promoting continuing medical education, declaring that JUH is scheduled to hold a conference for medical specialists graduates next April.

 

UJ Vice President for Scientific Faculties, Prof. Azmi Mahafzah commended JUHs efforts in the dissemination of knowledge and health care services. He added that the conference seeks to enhance nursing practices and keep pace with global developments in this area.

 

This conference includes four scientific sessions and examines 19 papers on topic related to health care quality, nurses’ performance, awareness among people in general and women in particular with regard to breast cancer, and the practical application of theoretical knowledge among nursing staff in Jordan.


Various health care institutions in Jordan are participating in the conference, including UJ Faculty of Nursing, the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, Ministry of Health, Jordan Nurses & Midwives Council, Jordanian Nursing Council, King Abdullah University Hospital, nursing faculties in other Jordanian universities, and private hospitals.

 

At the end of the opening ceremony, Princess Muna honored outstanding nurses at JUH.
