A regional workshop kicked off Wednesday at the UJ Center for Women’s Studies (CWS) on developing a network for women’s and gender studies centers in the region.

The workshop is organized by CWS in cooperation with KVINFO - the Danish Centre for Gender, Equality and Diversity.

Attended by academics and Gender experts from higher education institutions in the MENA region, the two-day workshop will also discuss mechanisms for achieving regional cooperation in the fields of women research and academia.

According to CWS Director Dr. Abeer Dababneh, the proposed network  aims to promote high-quality gender research and support academic cooperation between the networked centers at the level of students and faculty.

Established in 2006, CWS is a specialized center in women's affairs, it offers a master's program in Women's Studies and enjoys the generous support of HRH Princess Basma Bnt Talal.
