A new training center was inaugurated at UJ on Sunday to provide training courses on renewable energy sources for staff at public and private institutions, and postgraduate students.

Prof. Azmi Mahafzah inaugurated the national center, which has been established and fully outfitted with up to date tools under the support of the EU Tempus program.

Mahafzah also opened a video conferencing facility. The facility allows partners in the European universities to deliver renewable energy lectures for students from universities involved in the Tempus program.

On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, two workshops on the installation of solar energy systems for electricity generation kicked off at the Center.

Representatives from the Ministries of Energy and Mineral Resources, Planning, Agriculture, and the Environment, as well as Jordanian universities are participating in the three-day workshops.
