The US city of Provo, Utah, on Wednesday will witness the kick off of the Second International Conference on the Nabataean Culture.
The Conference, taking place during the period 6-9 May, is organized by UJ Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism, in cooperation with Brigham Young University, which is hosting the event.
The Conference, which is held once every 3 years, comes according to the Royal Request of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein to establish an international triennial conference on the Nabataean culture, and in the spirit of the bilateral academic agreement between The University of Jordan and Brigham Young University.
The Conference aims to promote and encourage new dimensions on the different aspects of the Nabataean Culture, and to shed light on the results of the field activities carried out in the Nabataean sites in Jordan.
UJ’s Professor, Dr. Nabil Khairy, the conference’s chief executive, pointed that the four-day conference will be attended by 24 scientists and experts from more than 12 Arab and foreign countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
