UJ’s Faculty of Arts and Design on Thursday concluded a memorandum of understanding with the National Music Conservatory (NMC).
The MoU provides for the exchange of academic and technical expertise in various disciplines of music in both theoretical and practical realms, and support student exchange between the two parties.
The MoU was signed by the faculty’s dean, Dr. Ayman Tayseer and the institute’s director Dr. Mohammad Othman.
Under the MoU, the Institute will provide the faculty with unavailable music expertise, the two sides will also collaborate on joint activities, workshops and host international musicians.
Faculty’s dean, Dr. Ayman Tayseer indicated that collaboration with the institute under this MoU will compensate for the lack of some experts on some musical instruments at the Music Department, in addition to providing training opportunities for students.
From his part, Othman explained that the MoU will bring mutual benefit to both parties, adding that the institute is keen to bring theoretical experiences and knowledge at the faculty to the Institute.
NMC is Jordan's premier institution for the development of talented local musicians and the promotion of music appreciation in Jordan.
