The immense role of Media in showing the real capacities and abilities of persons with visual impairment and the role they play in the building and advancement of the society was stressed at a symposium held at UJ on Thursday.
The symposium, titled the “Role of Media in Developing the Personality of Individuals with Visual Disabilities in the Society”, was organized by the Student Counseling Department, Deanship of Student Affairs.
The symposium also tackled the stereotypes linked to the image of blind people in the media.
Attended by 100 students, the symposium aimed at conveying the real image of people with visual disabilities and highlight issues of concern to students with disabilities at UJ.
