UJ continues to progress on the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking.

According to the 2015 edition of the Ranking (released January 22nd 2016) UJ ranked 98th internationally, and 2nd in the Arab world. 

UJ was occupying the 103rd place internationally in the ranking’s 2014 edition, and the 279th place in the 2013 edition.

UI GreenMetric World University Rankingwas was established in 2010 by Universitas Indonesia (UI) in order to promote awareness in institutions of higher education of the value of putting in place policies and systems that will have a positive impact on global warming and climate change.

The ranking criteria include the size of the university and its location — urban, suburban or rural — as well as the degree of green spaces on campus.  The ranking also evaluates electricity consumption, transport, water usage and waste management, in addition to the administration’s dealing with the issue of sustainability through policies, actions and communication.
