Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism Holds Scientific Day

The University of Jordan (UJ) Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism has been an exceptional place that holds within the history of Jordan and its richness, Faculty dean Dr. Mayson Al Nahar said on Wednesday during the opening of the Faculty’s Scientific Day.
 
The event was held under the theme: " Exchange experiences : student exchange and understanding between cultures”.
 
The dean displayed the Faculty’s achievements especially in the field of archeology, and restoration and conservation of archaeological sites, revealing that the Faculty is currently implementing a conservation-restoration project on an archaeological site in the city of Jerash, as well as the intention to establish a degree programme in hospitality  management.
 
During the event, students from the faculty discussed archaeological sites in Jordan during the Islamic eras, while a group of students from Hamburg University, Germany, presented studies on the Jordanian Arabic and its relationship with ancient languages.
 
The Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism seeks to provide Jordan, the surrounding Arab countries, and abroad with qualified graduates in archaeology, tourism, and cultural resources management.
 
During the last four decades, the Department of Archaeology has been carrying out excavations and surveys in almost every region in Jordan.
