UJ Student Wins Gold at Rio Olympics

The University of Jordan (UJ) student Ahmad Abu Ghaush has won the gold medal in the taekwondo -68kg event in the Rio Olympics.
 
UJ president Prof. Azmi Mahafzah congratulated Abu Ghaush for the win, “we are proud of his accomplishment”, Mahafzah said.
 
Mahafzah confirmed that UJ will provide full support to Abu Ghaush to achieve further success in the future.
 
According to Mahafzah, the Deanship of Student Affairs will organize a grand celebration to honor the champ after his return to Jordan, expected on Tuesday.
 
The 20-year-old student at the Faculty of Physical Education, is the first Jordanian to win an Olympic medal and the youngest competitor in the division.
 
Abu Ghaush won after beating Russia’s Alexey Denisenko 10-6 .
