The University of Jordan (UJ) Board of Trustees decided on Monday, upon the recommendation of UJ president Prof. Azmi Mahafzah, to effect major academic reshuffle at the university as of the 1st of September 2016.

 

The Board appointed Prof. Imad Salah as UJ’s Vice-president for Administrative Affairs; Prof. Musa Al Lozi as Vice-president for Centers and Community Service Affairs/ President of Aqaba Branch; Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh as Vice-president for Humanities Faculties Affairs; Prof. Omar Al-kafaween as Vice–President for Scientific Faculties Affairs; and Prof. Mahmoud Al-Khalaileh as Vice-president for Investment, Development and Funding.

 

The reshuffle included the appointment of all of Prof. Ghaida' Khaznehkatbi as Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Prof. Rifaat Shunnaq as Dean of the School of Business; Prof. Sami Hussein as Dean of the Faculty of Science; Prof. Natheer Obeidat as Dean of the School of Medicine; Prof. Mohammed Al -Omari as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Dr. Manar Al-Nabulsi as Acting Dean of the School of Nursing; Prof. Saleh Alrawadieh as Dean of the Faculty of educational Sciences; Prof. Ghaleb Abbasi as Dean of the School of Engineering; Prof. Fayyad Qudah as Dean of the School of Law and Prof. Khalid Attiyat as Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education.

 

The Board also decided to appoint Prof. Abla Albesol as Dean of the School of Pharmacy; Dr. Nihad Masri as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences; Prof. Bassam Hamo as Dean of King Abdullah II School for information technology; Prof. Abdullah Nagrash as Dean of Prince Al Hussien Bin Abdullah II School of International Studies and Prof. Mahmoud Shura’a as Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

 

Furthermore, Prof. Shaher Al Momani has been appointed Dean of Scientific Research, while Prof. Khaled Rawajfeh as Dean of Student Affairs.

 

With respect to the Aqaba branch, Dr. Nasreen Abu Hanak has been appointed as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Languages, Dr. Raed Bani Yaseen as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance, Dr. Ibrahim Bazazo as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, Dr. Evon Abu-Taieh as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Systems, and Marouf Khalaf as Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences.
