Three UJ Nursing Professors Honored

The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Azmi Mahazah on Sunday, October 16, honored Prof. Inaam Khalaf, Prof. Ayman Mansour and Prof. Ahmad Rayan from the School of Nursing on being awarded by the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties.
 
Prof. Inaam Khalaf won the Distinguished Research Award; Prof. Ayman Mansour won the Excellence Award for Distinguished Teacher; while doctoral graduate Dr. Ahmad Rayan won the Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award.
 
Prof. Mahafzah confirmed that the honoring is in recognition of the efforts that the professors have made in investigating for solutions to challenges facing the nursing profession.
 
Prof. Manar Nabulsi, School of Nursing Dean, said the School is deeply proud of this distinguished and dedicated group of educators.
 
The Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties is affiliated institution to the Association of Arab Universities (AArU).
 
More than 50 universities in 17 Arab countries have competed for this award.
 
Dr. Loai Abu Sharour, the society's General Secretary, explained that these awards originate from the belief in the necessity of encouraging excellence in academic education and clinical fields, in order to reach high quality cost effective nursing care.
 
He added that the Society grants several annual awards, including the Excellence Award for Distinguished Teacher, Excellence Award for Distinguished Academic Institution, Distinguished Master thesis Award, and Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award.
