The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah received in his office on Wednesday morning former Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Iyad Allawi.
The two guests are visiting the Kingdome to participate in the 10th edition of Amman Security Colloquium which opened at UJ yesterday under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan.
Mahafzah and the guests discussed issues related to the current situation in the region, in addition to the reality of higher education in Jordan, challenges facing the sector and future expectations.
During the meeting, Mahafzah briefed the guests on the history of UJ and spoke about the university's schools, centers, and programs.
In a related development, Mahafzah met in his office with the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization Mr. Lassina Zerbo who is also in Jordan to participate in the event.
