Council of Deans Postpones Student Union Elections

Upon the recommendation of the Higher Committee for Student Union Elections, the Council of Deans of the University of Jordan (UJ) agreed on Monday to postpone the student union elections.
 
The Committee is considering amending the 7th paragraph of Article (8) of the Student Union Election Bylaws, which states that elections are held during the first semester.
 
Head of the Higher Committee and Vice President Prof. Omar Kafawin said the Committee seeks to expand student participation and holding the elections in the second semester will enable first-year students to participate.

 

According to the first paragraph of Article (6), to be eligible to vote, undergraduate students must complete at least (12) credit hours and (6) hours for postgraduate students at the time of election.
