Local Hult Prize Competition Winners Announced

The Hult Prize Organizing Committee at the University of Jordan (UJ) in cooperation with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and the School of Business organized on Thursday, December 22nd, the Local Hult Prize Competition Winner Announcement.

Four teams, dubbed Profugees, Ossiria, Strategizers, and Impact, were announced winners and have qualified to the semi-finals of the Competition which will take place in Dubai next December. The winning team of the semi-finals will compete in the final international round in New York.
The team Profugees has won the first place; Ossiria has won the second place, while Strategizers and Impact shared the third place.
The 2017 Hult Prize "President's Challenge" is "Refugees - Reawakening Human Potential" and will focus on restoring the rights and dignity of people and societies who may be, or are forced into motion due to social injustices, politics, economic pressures, climate change and war.
This challenge invites students from over 100 countries to craft new business models that will measurably restore the rights and dignity of 10 million refugees along one of five dimensions of the human experience: place, community, learning, ownership, and opportunity.
This challenge was selected by President Bill Clinton and announced at the 2016 Hult Prize Finals and Awards program in New York.
The Hult Prize Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to launching the world's next wave of social entrepreneurs. It encourages the world's brightest business minds to compete in teams to solve the planet's biggest challenges with innovative ideas for sustainable start-up enterprises. Annual Hult Prize winners can make their ideas reality with the help of USD1 million in seed funding.
At the end of the ceremony, UJ Vice President Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh handed the certificates to the winning students and congratulated them.
