UJ, Higher Population Council Discuss Cooperation

The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah received in his office on Tuesday the Secretary-General of the Higher Population Council (HPC) Eng. Maysoon Alzoubi. 
The two parts examined issues of common interest and explored the possibility of establishing a Master's program in Applied Demography at the School of Arts.
According to Mahafzah, the program would contribute to raising awareness among students on emerging population and development issues.
In turn, Alzoubi said HPC is now seeking to develop the program with the support of the United Nations Population Fund, adding that it aims at the provision of competence human resources capable of addressing emerging social and demographic issues, and engage in advanced demographic research and data analysis.
The meeting was attended by Dean of the School of Arts Prof. Ghaida' Khazna Katbi, Assistant Dean for Quality Dr. Nidal Zboun, and Director of HPC's Programs Management Unit , Dr. Sawsan Al-Daajah.
