The University of Jordan (UJ) has been ranked top university in Jordan by the 'TRANSPARENT RANKING: Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations'.

According to the Ranking's Fourth edition (July version), UJ has been ranked 844th out of 4982 listed universities, and 5th in the Arab world.

Google Scholar Citations assesses over 5000 official profiles of universities worldwide.

This ranking is based on the number of citations of scientific research produced by the scientists of an institution.

This ranking is a project of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group that belongs to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).

The ranking is an experiment for testing the suitability of including GSC data in the Rankings Web.

In the methodology, only institutional profiles are chosen, data from the top 10 public profiles of each university are collected and the head of the list is excluded for improving representativeness. The figures are valid only at the time of collection.
