3rd International Conference on E-Publishing Opens at UJ

The Third International Conference on E-Publishing (3rd ICEPUB) opened at the University of Jordan (UJ) today under the theme: "Towards Modern Libraries: Quality and Accreditation".
 
Over 120 scholars and experts in library science and technology from Jordan and the region are participating in the conference, which organized by UJ Library.
 
The three-day conference aims at discussing the most recent trends and challenges in the field of E-publishing along with their implications for academic publishing, quality and accreditation, information services, and other areas where electronic publishing is imperative.
 
Deputizing for UJ president, Vice President for Humanities Faculties Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh, said the university set a strategy for the next five years with the goals of achieving further progress in the online library database.
 
Library Director, Dr. Saher Manaseer said the university administration aims to join the world of digital and modern libraries, which is among the main motivations to improve the quality and method of providing information to students, researchers and visitors.
 
The university makes sure to keep online sources updated, he said, ensuring better quality of information for the portal’s users, which encourages scientific research and access to information worldwide.
 
The conference's main topics include Knowledge Discovery & Open Data Mining in Libraries, Social Media Analytics and Computing for Libraries, Innovation and Knowledge Management for Libraries, Digital Research in Libraries, and Infrastructure for E-Libraries.
