The 4th International Conference on Islamic Banking & Finance, organized by School of Shari'a at the University of Jordan (UJ), concluded with the participation of academic and banking experts from Jordan and abroad.

The event was organized by the Department of Islamic Banking at the University in cooperation with the International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance, and with the support of the Jordan Islamic Bank.

The conference included a number of recommendations highlighting the need for legislation supporting the establishment of Sharia-compliant financial markets.

During its closing session, the three-day Conference also called on the Central Bank of Jordan to offer Islamic monetary instruments for Islamic banks.

The participants recommended that Islamic financial institutions should collaborate together to develop Islamic Market Indexes.

Over four sessions, the conference discussed types of financial markets and their characteristics, realities, and challenges; regulatory and legal control of financial markets and financial intermediaries; as well as practical experiences in financial markets at the local and global levels.
