A conference on "Antibiotic Resistance and Zoonosis" was held at the University of Jordan (UJ) on Wednesday.
 
At the conference, doctors and scientists agreed that the world is witnessing an excessive and irrational use of antibiotics, which lead to the development of drug-resistant microbes.
 
They stressed that antibiotic use in animals also contributes to the rising threat of antibiotic resistance in humans due to the strong link between human health and animal health, noting that more than 200 infectious diseases transmitted from animals.

 
The Conference aims to provide a platform for cooperation between scientists, physicians, and health workers, and to exchange opinions and knowledge in the fields of vaccines, antibiotics, and zoonotic Diseases.
 
The Conference was organized by the Infectious Disease and Vaccine Center at the University.
