UJ, Hamburg University of Technology to Establish Joint PhD Program

The University of Jordan (UJ) has recently signed a cooperation agreement with Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) for the establishment of a collaborative PhD program in mechanical engineering/renewable energy.

 

The agreement was signed by UJ President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah, and TUHH President Prof. Garabed Antranikian.

 

The joint program comes in response to regional and global market needs and will have students spend five to six semesters at TUHH.

 

Program coordinator Dr. Ahmed Salaymeh said that the new program starts this September this year.

 

"This agreement is a result of years of cooperation between the two universities in several projects supported by the EU and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)," Salaymeh added.

 

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Zaid Bqaeen, Vice President; Dr. Shaher Al-Momani, Dean of Academic Research; Mohammad Al-Shuraida, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies; Dr. Ghaleb Abbasi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. program coordinator Dr. Ahmed Salaymeh.
