Conference on Rule of Law and Religion to Open Next Sunday

Under the Patronage of His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal, the School of Law at the University of Jordan (UJ) is organizing the First Annual Middle East Conference on the Rule of Law and Religion on Sunday April 22, 2018.


The conference, which is organized by the School in cooperation with the International Center for Law and Religion Studies at Brigham Young University, deals with the study and clarification of the Amman Message in the context of a rapidly changing world.


The themes of the conference focus on the main points of the Amman Message and its constitutional and legal outlook, in addition to the meaning of 'Jihad' under the current circumstances of the Middle East.


The conference will address fundamental issues related to human rights, protection of religious minorities, and the role of Amman Message in combating religious extremism.


The two-days conference includes eight sessions with the participation of academics, legal experts, Muslim and Christian scholars, and judicial leaders from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Lebanon, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, United States of America, Europe as well as Jordan.
