The University of Jordan (UJ) signed a memorandum of understanding with TechWorks, a Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) initiative, to cooperate on supporting youth and encouraging student innovation.

The MoU was signed by UJ President, Prof. Abdel karim Al Qudah and CEO of the Foundation Dr. Tamam Mango, with the attendance of the Director of the University of Jordan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Dr. Ashraf Bani Mohammed.

This cooperation is represented by organizing workshops, seminars and conferences that contribute to the development of communication and interaction between students and researchers to promote knowledge exchange and research, and to hold training courses in entrepreneurship, in addition to finding opportunities for university students to develop their capabilities through participation in training programs and competitions held by the Foundation.

Also, according to the memorandum, researchers at the University will be able to work on research programs in fields agreed upon with the TechWorks’ ideas team,and local and international innovators will be able  to share experiences and ideas. Furthermore, the memorandum encourages the launch of events inside the University to inform students about  the concept of 'Design Thinking', and to work on spreading it as a culture among them.

CPF Executive Director, Dr. Tamam Mango, said the initiative comes in implementation of His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II's approach to supporting youth and motivating them to innovate.  Mango added that TechWorks serves as the perfect incubator for local and international innovators to exchange experiences and ideas, allowing them access to advanced technology in the areas of advanced digital manufacturing techniques.
