QS Institution ranked the University of Jordan (UJ) among the top ten universities in the Arab region. UJ ranked ninth in the Arab World and first locally, followed by the Jordan University of Science and Technology, ranking fourteenth on the list.
The University’s Accreditation and Quality Control Center stated the University attained exceptional results in most of the classification criteria. The University also ranked fourth in terms of reputation of graduates, eighth in terms of academic reputation and ninth in the percentage of PhD holders.
The importance of this ranking affects the students when choosing the universities to which they will join; the ranking criteria are practical and scientific indicators on the quality of academic programs and degrees.
It is worth noting that 250 Arab universities were evaluated in this classification and results of the best 120 universities were published. Fourteen Jordanian universities were included in this list, of which three are in addition to Jordan in the top 50 (Jordan University of Science and Technology 14, Yarmouk University 33 and Hashemite University 38).
