The first regional conference, entitled "Arab Society: The Current Crisis and the Question of the Future," was launched at the University of Jordan (UJ) today with the participation of local and Arab scholars from various sociological fields.
Held by the Department of Sociology at the School of Arts, the conference seeks to shed light on current escalating challenges and problems resulting from present geopolitical, economic and social conditions in the Arab world.
The two-day conference is attended by scholars from Tunisia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Algeria and Palestine.
The participants are presenting papers on topics covering social, psychological, economic, historical, cultural, demographic, media and future concerns.
