Department of Mathematics Holds 2nd Abstract Algebra Workshop

Academics and scholars from various Jordanian universities came together at the University of Jordan (UJ) on Thursday, July 18, to attend the 2nd Abstract Algebra Workshop.
 
Organized by the Department of Mathematics, the workshop hosted Professor of Algebra at the American University of Sharjah, Ayman Badawi, who is one of the most outstanding Arab scholars in the field.
 
The workshop aimed at presenting new research projects in abstract algebra and establishing research groups from various Jordanian universities.
 
It was also intended at presenting the new in the abstract algebra world for postgraduate students who wish to specialize in abstract algebra, as well as to provide them with advice and guidance in scientific research, and on journals and international conferences specialized in algebra.
 
The agenda of the workshop included three sessions Dr. Ayman Badawi spoke in the first session, which was directed by Dr. Manal Ghanem, on a number of topics and the recent scientific findings in this area, talking in-depth about some of the topics that are in the field of his experience.
 
In the second session, moderated by Dr. Hani Khashan, UJ professors Dr. Hassan Al-Azzeh and Dr. Imad Abuosba discussed some fundamental concepts of abstract algebra, such as numbers, groups, rings and fields.
 
The third session included extensive discussions in which participants exchanged ideas and experiences.
