UJ Professor Honored by the Higher Education Ministry

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohiuddin Touq, honored Professor Murad Al Damen, a faculty member at the School of Science at the University of Jordan (UJ).  Al Damen was recently awarded the ''Development of Scientific Educational Materials TWAS-AREP Award" on the level of the Arab world for the year 2019.


Touq expressed the pride of the Ministry for the accomplishment of Al Damen and his distinction in the field of academic research, pointing to the importance of awarding such a distinguished award to a Jordanian scholar.


He also pointed to the ministry’s interest in dedicated researchers who has won important awards of international reputation.


Al Damen expressed his thanks to the Ministry represented by Dr. Touq for this initiative that indicates the ministry's interest in the achievements of Jordanian academics and supporting their excellence, encouraging them to work more for higher education in Jordan.


Al Damen is a faculty member at the School of Science. He obtained his doctorate at the age of 28 from the University of Valencia / Spain and was promoted to the rank of professor at the University of Jordan at the age of 36 years.  Al Damen's winning of the TWAS-AREP award came as a result of his achievements in the field of scientific research and development in the quality of science education in the Arab region.


He also has more than fifty research published in international journals with a high impact factor. His research was cited significantly on the level of chemistry for Jordan, and he was awarded the distinguished researcher award at the University of Jordan in 2011, and holds many international memberships, and he taught many courses and supervised many graduate students at the University.
