The University of Jordan (UJ), represented by its International Affairs Unit, participated in a virtual workshop held by Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland via Zoom to discuss the status of global economy in general and Jordan in particular in light of the Coronavirus developments and its ramifications.
The workshop, which is hosted by UJ annually, is part of an academic course within the master's program of international business offered by the Swiss university. The event saw the participation of 15 businessmen students from Several European and American countries.
The Director of the International Affairs Unit, Dr. Hadeel Yassin, in her intervention, discussed the impact of Coronavirus on the Jordanian economy and its consequences on the various walks of life. In addition, she spoke about the series of precautionary measures taken by the Jordanian government in dealing with the pandemic.
It is worth noting that the two-day workshop included a number of meetings, during which the students met with a number of officials from various economic and investment sectors that fall in the context of their studies and work, such as the Jordanian Investment Authority, Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.
