The results of the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020 of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) – ShanghaiRanking - have been recently published.
The results revealed that the University of Jordan (UJ) achieved world rankings in the Medical Sciences and Engineering fields (Dentistry, Nursing, Computer Science & Engineering).
UJ ranked 151-200 in the Nursing subject, 201-300 in the Dentistry & Oral Sciences subject, and 302-400 in the Computer Science & Engineering subject, outdoing the universities in Jordan in the three subjects.
In this ranking, more than 4,000 universities are evaluated in 54 subjects across Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences.
According to the ranking's webpage, to be included in a subject ranking, the universities need to have a minimum number of research publications during the period of 2014-2018.
