The Department of Asian Languages at the School of Foreign Languages organized in cooperation with the University of Bialystok, Poland, an international conference entitled: “The Problem of Cultural Dialogue East - West”.
Held through Zoom Video Conferencing, the conference aimed at discussing the role of science, literature and language in promoting cultural dialogue between the East and West.
UJ Vice President Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh inaugurated the event with an address in which he stressed the importance of cultural dialogue in promoting cultural understanding between the different parts and civilizations of this world.
In turn, the School Dean Prof. Yousef Abu Amrieh said: "The conference comes at a time the Kingdom is celebrating its Independence Day and the state's first centenary, reminding us of Jordan's central role in promoting intercultural dialogue," referring to the school's role in this regard, which offers 9 language programs.
The one day event saw the participation of academics from Ukraine, Turkey, Australia, Poland, and Jordan.
