UJ, ICRC Discuss Cooperation Aspects

The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Professor Nathir Obeidat, on Tuesday, November 8th, met with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), comprised of Dr. Casper Tashdijian, the committee's health coordinator, and Dr. Mary Scott, rehabilitation expert.
The two sides discussed ways to sustain joint partnership between the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and ICRC, as well as other possible collaborations and ways to support them.
Obeidat noted UJ's interest in expanding horizons of academic and scientific cooperation with various international institutions, in the interest of students and UJ, and in line with the university's strategy of building influential partnerships locally, regionally, and globally.

The two parties discussed the possibility of supporting the School of Rehabilitation Sciences in its pursuit to obtain international accreditation for the Orthotic and Prosthetic program.

Dean of the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Prof. Zaid Hawamdeh, commended partnership with ICRC, and the committee's efforts to develop the program and provide the department with the necessary equipment.
