UJ, MOI Sign MoU

The University of Jordan (UJ) and the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) on Sunday concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to send students to study at the Master's Program in Local Development, as part of the UNDP's Decentralization and Local Development Support Programme, an initiative funded by the EU.
 
The signing took place in presence of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative Randa Aboul-Hosn.
 
Director of the Local Development Directorate at MOI, Mohammed al-Sarhan, indicated that the program will provide about 20 EU-funded research grants to government employees and NGO representatives to pursue a Master's degree in Local Development at UJ.

For his part, UJ’s president Professor Nathir Obeidat valued this cooperation, which seeks to achieve the highest degree of efficiency in government institutions, pointing out UJ's awareness of its role in supporting various educational programs that benefit local communities.

Resident Representative of UNDP Jordan Randa Aboul-Hos expressed UNDP's commitment to support the vision and efforts of the Government of Jordan on Reforms related to good governance and Local Economic Development.
