The University of Jordan (UJ) represented by its president, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, mourns with great sorrow the loss of Dr. Nihad El-Mousa, Professor of Arabic and Linguistics, who passed away on Friday evening at the age of over eighty years.
It is noteworthy that El-Mousa is a renowned grammarian, linguists, administrative and academic, whose biography has been associated with the University of Jordan for 45 years, during which he attained the rank of full professor in 1980.
El-Mousa served as the Chairman of the Department of Graduate Studies for Humanities and Social Sciences, Chairman of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, and Dean of the School of Arts at the university.
