The President of the University of Jordan in Aqaba (UJ-Aqaba) Prof. Riyad Manasrah met with the Ambassador of Canada to Jordan Donica Pottie to discuss avenues of cooperation between the university and higher education institutions and research centers in Canada.
The two sides discussed current conditions requiring the adaptation of academic institutions and the development of the online education by strengthening academic and digital infrastructure.
They also stressed the importance of networking between UJ-Aqaba and Canadian universities for the common benefit of both sides.
In a meeting with university students, Manasrah and Ambassador Pottie listened to challenges they faced during the coronavirus pandemic and the shift to online education, in addition to their suggestions and ideas to develop the educational process.
Manasrah expressed gratitude to the Canadian Ambassador for her initiative and interest in learning about the capacities of the University, based on the strong bilateral relations between the two sides.
For her part, the Ambassador commended Jordan's ability to overcome the challenges and obstacles facing it, and expressed her country's aspiration to expand and strengthen the horizons of cooperation with Jordan in various fields, in particular academia.
