School of Languages Holds Asian Languages Festival

The Department of Asian Languages at the School of Foreign Languages organized on Thursday, February 9, on campus a cultural festivity aimed at expanding the students' knowledge about different Asian countries, cultures and languages.
 
The 'Asian Languages Festival', held under the patronage of the University of Jordan (UJ) Vice President Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh, introduced a range of activities and events to broaden the students' cultural perspective.
 
The event was attended by the Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, Cultural Attache of the Korean Embassy, KOICA Jordan Office Director, Director of the Russian Cultural Center, Director of Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center, and TIKA Amman Coordinator. 
 
The Festival included different cultural shows and interactive quizzes with the audience. Also during the festival, the results of the previously held translation contest were announced. Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh along with the School's Dean Prof. Mahmoud Al-Shra’ah handed out the certificates and gifts to the winners. The gifts were provided by the Turkish cultural center, Yunus Emre, KOICA and the faculty staff in the department.
