Conference on Environment, Water and Islam Opens at UJ

A conference on "Environment and Water from Perspectives of Islamic Law and the Modern World" opened at the University of Jordan on Sunday, April 23rd.
 
The conference is organized by the School of Shari'a in cooperation with the Centre for Islamic Theology at Münster University of Germany.
 
The conference aims to discuss water and environmental issues from the perspectives of the Islamic law (Sharia).
 
The objectives of the conference include highlighting the value of environment and water in Islam, building cooperation and communication between Sharia scholars and entities interested in Environment and Water issues, and presenting visions, ideas, and experiences related to environmental and water issues at the local and international levels.
 
The two-day conference was inaugurated by UJ President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah.
