Spirit of TEDx Conferences Brought to UJ

A popular TEDx talk was brought to the University of Jordan (UJ) on September 8th with a TEDxUJ event, inspiring students with new and innovative ideas created by young people such as themselves.

 

The TEDxUJ event was arranged by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, bringing together young innovators, students and the organizing team.
 
Suhaib Alkhawaldah, a Jordanian business developer with a solid experience in Entrepreneurship and financial fields, presented his experience as one of the Arab world's youngest entrepreneurs.
 
Alkhawaldah, who holds a MBA and MSc Accounting & finance from University of Birmingham, highlighted challenges and difficulties he encountered in founding and managing a number of startups and SMEs.
 
Shireen Yaish, an Art Psychotherapist, spoke about her inspiring journey as the founder of the first art therapy center in the Arab region, which she named Kaynouna.
 
Trained and qualified as an Art Psychotherapist at Goldsmiths College of the University of London, Yaish is behind art therapy initiatives that provided trauma informed art psychotherapy sessions and training for women, orphans and refugee children in Jordan.
 
The organizers were Lubna Almousa and SalahEddin AlQawasmi, both are 3rd year visual art students at the University of Jordan.
 
The event saw the attendance of a large crowed of students, staff and interested persons.
