The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Abdel karim Al Qudah opened on Sunday a Hungarian corner at the University’s library, in presence of the Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan Csaba Czibere, the cultural attaché at the Embassy Eva Ladanyi, and the Director General of Hungary’s National “Széchenyi” Library, Prof. Lászlo Tüske.
Alqudah said that the University aims, as part of its strategy, to open up to the outside world and to introduce its students to other cultures in order for them to learn and benefit as much as they while at the University.
For his part, Czibere expressed his gratitude for the fruitful cooperation between the Embassy and the University, and thanked the University and its Library for their efforts in establishing the Hungarian Corner at the Library.
Following the opening of the Corner, a seminar was held by Prof. Tüske during which he talked about Hungarian history and the role of Arab and Muslim travelers in defining Hungarian origins and the various Hungarian sources that spoke about Arab and Islamic culture.
