Professor Joseph Nye Lectures Online to UJ Students

An online lecture was held by the University of Jordan (UJ) via Zoom, titled : “coronavirus crisis and potential global geo-strategic shifts”, intended for the students of the Human Rights and Human Development master’s program of Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II School of International Studies. The lecture featured Joseph Nye, Professor of Political Science at Harvard University and former US assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs and developer of the soft power theory. The lecture was organized at the invitation of the Director of the Center for Strategic Studies and Professor at the International Development Department, Prof. Zaid Eyadat. A discussion took place between the students and Dr. Nye, moderated by Dr. Eyadat, evolved mostly around the US-China relations after the Coronavirus pandemic. Dean of the School Prof. Muhammad Alkatatsheh valued Prof. Eyadat’s initiative at inviting one of the most important theorists of international relations in the world. “It certainly enriched the students’ perspectives and exposed them to the views of an important political scientist”, he said.
