On Thursday, September 22, the University of Jordan (UJ) announced the launch of two, occupational and vocational, diploma programs on electric and hybrid cars, in a ceremony patronized by UJ president Prof. Nathir Obeidat and attended by Tafila Technical University president, Prof. Omar Maaytah, UJ Vice Presidents, Dean of the School of Engineering, and the project's teams from the local partner universities.
The two programs are established within the (ECO-CAR) project which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, and coordinated by UJ with 13 Jordanian and European partners.
The programs aim to provide the Jordanian labor market and the regional market with specialized engineers and technicians in the field of electric and hybrid cars to meet the needs of the market in light of the increasing local and regional demand for this technology.
The two programs were developed in partnership with the University of Science and Technology, Mutah University, Tafila Technical University, Al-Balqa Applied University, Al-Hussein Technical University, the University of Applied Sciences, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-LIPPE, RWTH Aachen University, University of Deusto, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Technical University National University of Athens, and University of L'Aquila, provide state-of-the-art applied curricula, specialized laboratories and training opportunities in partner countries.
