UJ Wins 3 First Places at the 3rd Korean Speech Contest

Three students from the University of Jordan (UJ) have won the top prizes of the 3rd Korean Speech Contest which took place on Wednesday, October 12, at Al Hussein Cultural Center in Amman.
 
The contest was organized at by the Korean Embassy to Jordan in cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
 
The first, second and  third prizes went, respectively, to Bayan Al-Slaiti, Abrar Bu- Ruba, and Aya Abu Hattab. Inas Ibrahim, who is also a student at UJ, took home the incentive prize.
 
The winners, who are enrolled in the Korean Language program at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, demonstrated high language abilities with an outstanding performances in both language and presentation. 
 
The contest is an annual event aimed at providing Korean Language learners with an opportunity to showcase their Korean language skills.
 
UJ Vice President, Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh said at the event that UJ is interested in exposing students to various languages and cultures around the world, including “rich” Asian cultures.
 
South Korea’s Ambassador to Jordan Lee Bom-yon said the contest is a chance for students who study the Korean language to practice what they learn and seek further educational opportunities.
 
Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Prof. Mahmoud Shura'a attended the event which included a variety of programs including a traditional Korean drum show.
