UJ Wins Three Awards at the 10th NTP

Three innovative student projects from the University of Jordan (UJ) were among the winning projects of the 10th National Technology Parade's (NTP) graduation project competition on May 4th.
 
Themed "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum", the 10th NTP was hosted by the German-Jordanian University in corporation with Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE).
 
The event aims at motivating the innovative thinking among Jordanian undergraduate students and at unlocking their potentials. It also aims at directing the efforts of students and faculty toward exploiting technology to solve local problems at the national level, and at building an integration and
effective cooperation between industry and academia.
 
Three winners were selected at each of the competition's categories; engineering design and simulation, entertainment and games , energy and environmental technology, medical and bio technology , defense, security and public safety, Industrial and productivity technology, Information Technology and smart systems technology. 
 
Doa'a Orman from the Computer Engineering Department won the first place in the Entertainment and Games track for her project "Reading Projector", conducted under the supervision of Dr. Iyad Ja'afar.
 
The second prize of the Entertainment and Games track went to UJ students Dilana Kurdi and Afnan Al-Habahba. Their project "Virtual Reality Educational Game" was conducted under the supervision of Eng. Saada Swaidan.
 
Asma Kayali and Rania Salamah won the third prize of the Defense, Security, and Public Safety category for a project, titled "Special Rescue Vest", supervised by Dr. Walid Dweik.
 
Held since 2008, the NTP is intended to create an atmosphere that allows undergraduates to demonstrate their creativity.
