UJ Student Wins ASRF's Entrepreneur of the Future Competition

Zainab Salman, a pharmacy student at the University of Jordan (UJ), has won the 'Entrepreneur of the Future' competition, organized by ASRF-Applied Scientific Research Fund.
 
Salman was announced winner of the Healthcare category in a special ceremony held in Amman on May 22nd.
 
The UJ student invented a low-cost piece made for ointment tubes that allows taking full advantage of the product, particularly the unable-to-use remains inside the ointment tube.
 
The competition aims at providing funding, support, and encouragement to university student innovators in three areas: Healthcare, Green Technology, and Information Technology in Tourism.
 
Dean of the School of Pharmacy Dr. Abla Bsoul commended achievement, congratulating the student on her win.
 
Dr. Bsoul also thanked other UJ competitors who were able to qualify for the final stages of the competition.
 
Dr. Areej Assaf, Salman's supervisor, noted that 75 student from different Jordanian universities have applied for this competition.
 
"To me, this win encourages me to stand up to challenge and keep on progressing," Zainab said, "It gave me a great motivation to participate in other competitions in the future," she added.
 
The students were given a workshop at Hamdi Mango Center for Scientific Research (HMCSR) on how to participate in this competition. They were also guided and encouraged to give their best effort.
 
The competition was organized with the support of the USAID's program Fhi360, EU programme for education, training, youth and sport Erasmus+ and the Royal Jordanian Airlines.

Applied Scientific Research Fund (ASRF) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization created to promote the development of applied Science and Engineering ideas.
