UJ Engineering Students Win JEA's Competition

A number of graduation projects designs developed by engineering students at the University of Jordan (UJ) were selected winners of the 2017 graduation projects competition.

 

The Competition is annually organized by the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) and recognizes outstanding graduation projects of engineering students in Jordan.

 

In the Civil Engineering Category, the first place went to a project dubbed "Tannur Dam Redesign", created by students Robeen Bakri, Aya Sulaiman, Hadeel Zawaideh, and Huda Alsoud under the supervision of Dr. Wasel Bdour, Shadi Muqbel, and Rabab Al Lozi.

 

Anas Moubaidin won the second place of the CE Category for his project "Structural Analytic Design Daboq Saray-Amman-Jordan", conducted under the supervision of Dr. Yasser Al-Hunaiti.

 

The third place also went to a UJ student. The project, named "Sewer System Design for Aidid District", was conducted by Mounir Belsaed under the supervision of Dr. Shadi Moqbel.

 

In the Mechanical Engineering Category, our students Sherine Abdel-Haq, Lobni Karkz, Abdullah Odeh and Dania Makahla won the first place jointly with the German Jordanian University, and the third place together with Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan.

 

Prof. Ghaleb Abbasi, Dean of the School of Engineering commended the achievement, “I’m so proud of our students and educators,” he said. Abbasi added that the School has been always supporting innovative students and investing in creative ideas and ventures.
