Students Honored for Winning International Prizes

Three students from the University of Jordan (UJ) were honored by UJ President Dr. Abdel karim Al Qudah, in recognition of their exerted efforts in several extracurricular activities and winning international prizes.


Hatem Dweik from the School of Engineering and Abdul Rahman Almustafa from the School of Medicine were honored for their excellent performance in the sports field.  Dweik won the gold medal of the International Karate Marmara Cup for the year 2018 held in Turkey, while Almustafa won the gold medal of the Asian Championship 2018, and the Karate1 Series A held in Chile.


Graduate student at the School of Sharia Obeida Maan Freihat was honored for his brilliant performance in the King Abdul Aziz International Competition for the memorization, recitation, and interpretation of the Quran in its 40th session, winning the second place of the contest, in addition to winning the third place in the International Competition for the conservation of the Quran.


Al Qudah congratulated the students for their great efforts and for their internationally recognized achievements. He also said that this honoring comes within the framework of UJ’s keenness to support its outstanding students and encourage them to compete in international competitions and events.


The students expressed their deep thanks and gratitude to UJ and to its President for this honor, which, according to them, a great motivation to make more efforts, to achieve more, and to represent the University of Jordan in various international forums.


The ceremony was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Khaled Al-Attiyat and the Director of Sports Activity Department, Dr. Ra’ei Khreisat
