Winners of Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers 2015 Recognized

The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah honored the winners of Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers 2015.

 

Ghaleb Rababah, Fatima Afifi and Mohammed Alaween were recognized at a special ceremony held at the President's office on Sunday.


 
Mahafzah expressed pride in the achievement, which reflects the university's true mission and commitment to supporting and encouraging scientific research and distinguished faculty and students.

 

The professors were among 16 scholars selected for this year's award from a total of 194 candidates from Arab universities and scientific institutions.

 

The three awardees expressed appreciation for UJ administration for the recognition and support.

 

Associate Professor of Linguistics Ghaleb Rababah has won the Arts, Human Sciences, Education and Social Affairs Award – Role of education curriculum in socialization.

 

Professor of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry Fatima Afifi has won the Health and Medical Sciences Award - Medicinal plants extracts and their uses.

 

Mohammad Alaween, Professor of Economics, has won the Economic and Administrative Sciences Award - Economic and Administrative Reform and its Association with Political Reform.


 
Since it was first launched in 1982, the Award has been granted to more than 400 professors and researchers from various universities and institutions in the Arab world.
