The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah on Tuesday inaugurated at the University of Jordan Language Center (UJLC) an ETS computer-based testing center that allows students to take ETS-developed tests on campus.

The new testing center is installed in cooperation with the international Educational Testing Service (ETS) organization.

The step is part of an aim to turn UJLC into a global language service provider.

The new lab will offer English language testing services, such asTOEFL iBT and TOEIC tests among others.

The two sides signed an agreement to set up the center at UJLC on August 28, 2016.

The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of UJ Vice President for Centers and Community Service Affairs Prof. Musa Al Lozi, ETS Global Middle East Regional Manager Mr. Ibrahim Abu Einain, UJLC Director Dr. Ziyad Gogazeh, and TOEFL Examination Coordinator at ETS regional office Ishraq Zoubi.

Founded as a nonprofit in 1947, ETS develops, administers and scores more than 50 million tests annually, including the TOEFL and TOEIC tests, the GRE tests and The Praxis Series assessments, in more than 180 countries, at over 9,000 locations worldwide.
